"The moment I first walked in the door, I knew this was the loving and nurturing environment we were looking for!" - St. Mark's Preschool Parent
St. Mark's main objective is to help each child have a positive beginning school experience in a Christian atmosphere. We are a developmentally appropriate program in which the children have a balance of structure and free choice and where the focus is in the process of their endeavors, rather than the finished product.
"Our daughter has been social from birth, but not such a big fan of academics. Recently, her interest in academics has really taken off and we believe that is a direct result of the constant and patient exposure to educational opportunities at St. Marks. We couldn't be more pleased and excited!" - St. Mark's Preschool Parent
By exposing the children to many different educational experiences, they will increase their understanding of the world as well as develop social skills and build confidence to help in their overall development.
"When our twins started preschool at St. Mark's, they were very shy and reserved. Now they run into class ready to learn and socialize with their friends." - St. Mark's Preschool Parent
We encourage the children to think, problem solve, make decisions and follow through with many hands-on, minds-on experiences.
"St. Mark's is a warm and inviting place for my child to learn and grow during the preschool years. All of the teachers are friendly and supportive. They have a great love for children and it shows. Since St. Mark's is a smaller preschool, the teachers know every student and parent on a more intimate level. My youngest child can't wait until he is old enough to go to St. Mark's!" - St. Mark's Preschool Parent
St. Mark's also understands the value of Community. We plan field trips in and around Petersburg to provide creative educational experiences as well as to raise community awareness.
"St. Mark's is a shining star in Petersburg!" - St. Mark's Preschol Parent
